ANNOUNCING AUSTIN'S FIRST LITTLE BLACK DRESS DESIGN CONTEST AT BLACKMAIL BOUTIQUE: Celebrating the birthday of Coco Chanel, the Grande Dame of fashion, Blackmail, the iconic Austin boutique is launching "The Little Black Dress Design Contest" on August 19th, 2008. Be it classic, cocktail, sporty, or avant-garde, any dress is eligible as long as you, the designer, make it yourself. Students, crafters, home sewers, and professionals are all invited to submit their interpretations of the quintessential garment made famous by the French Couturiere, Coco Chanel.
To participate, you must conceive, design, and produce the garment yourself for judging by a panel of Austin professionals.
Beginning August 19, 2008, application packets will be available at:Blackmail1202 South Congress Austin, TX 78704.
Completed dresses are due by September 30th, 2008. Judging, Awards, and the evening of "The Little Black Dress" will take place on Friday October 3rd, 2008.
